Helena Malone is an innovative designer and maker of Precious Jewellery.
From a background of finance and literature, the decision to change careers was in 2003 after travelling the world. On her return Helena studied the traditional skills of jewellery-making in Kilkenny and entered design competitions with success. She set up her own business at the very end of 2007. Since 2005 she has exhibited in both collaborative and national exhibitions.
Working with precious metals of gold, silver, platinum and palladium, Helena compliments designs with diamonds, precious stones and Tahitian pearls.
"My clients have commented that my pieces have an elegance which is discreetly different. Feminine with an edge. I am motivated by texture, fine curves and simple lines…and that elusive sense of balance in nature, the way that everything looks 'just right'. I design and make each piece with a passion for quality. It is a huge privilege to me when a person loves my work and when I am commissioned to make something as special as an engagement ring for example. Jewellery should not be left in a box.’’
Helena also widely promotes the recycling and re-using of a clients existing jewellery through melting , remaking and extensive repair work.
